Arizona state tax in 2026

Arizona charges a flat 2.5% state income tax, one of the lowest rates among states with an income tax. The state standard deduction is not subtracted here, so your real state tax may be a little lower.

Example take-home pay in Arizona

Single filer, no 401(k), paid every 2 weeks, with a flat 2.5% state income tax:

$40,000 per year$1,282 every 2 weeks
$60,000 per year$1,880 every 2 weeks
$80,000 per year$2,427 every 2 weeks
$100,000 per year$2,949 every 2 weeks

How this calculator works

We subtract your 401(k) contribution and the 2026 standard deduction ($16,100 single, $32,200 married filing jointly), then apply the 2026 federal brackets (IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32). Social Security is 6.2% up to $184,500 of pay, and Medicare is 1.45% (plus 0.9% on high pay).

Rates last updated: October 2026. This is an estimate and does not include credits, local taxes, benefits or W-4 changes. Check your state tax agency for official rules.
